About Dishcern

Dishcern exists to answer two questions people ask every week: "What should I actually get here?" and "Is this kitchen thing worth buying?"

Restaurant menus keep getting longer and pricier, and most "best menu items" articles online are thinly rewritten press releases. We do it differently. Every guide on Dishcern gives a plain verdict for each item — Order it, Decent, or Skip it — based on taste, portion, and price, using national average prices and the chains' own published nutrition data.

Our kitchen gear guides follow the same philosophy: fewer picks, clearer reasoning, and an honest note about who shouldn't buy something.

How we make money

Dishcern is free to read. We earn revenue from display advertising and from affiliate commissions when you buy gear through our links (at no extra cost to you). No restaurant or brand pays for a verdict, and we don't accept sponsored placements in our rankings.
